In this sense, within the framework of celebrating its twentieth anniversary at the National University of San Martín, it opens its doors to host the thirtieth Congress of the IIC. In this way, it aims to bring together students, undergraduate and graduate, and professionals from the region to share this rich experience. Likewise, in addition to the broadcast of the IIC Congress, local activities will be carried out to promote a discussion around topics of local interest.

The main purpose of the Uruguay hub of the congress has been to create awareness in Uruguay of the need to offer training and carry out research on Cultural Heritage in order to know it, value it and preserve it properly. To this end, it has joined enormous efforts from different institutions and local professional associations to bring together participants from the different departments of the country and facilitate their participation through scholarships. Among the local activities organized are technical visits to the conservation and storage areas of museums and guided visits to laboratories of the Faculty of Chemistry that have collaborated in analysis and study projects of cultural property.
